I have already been doing work in the SEO sell for almost Several years now. To some I am just a new pup, but I must say the results we obtain from my SEO campaigns speak for their own reasons.
Whenever you work in seo of SEO you often network along with other SEO professionals and stay tuned using the latest SEO waves or updates from Google. In addition, you communicate with other SEO experts in the forums and blogs.
I would like to express my concern with the amount of complexity added to the topic of SEO. About 80% of knowledge on SEO out there is simply too deep and complicated, by having an awful great deal of opinions.
Like all technology or methodology, folks are searching for usability. They desire something which works, creates an effect or is important. This same concept pertains to SEO.
Utilizing a technology requires keeping the basics of this technology. In the event you search through the thousands of available “sources” you are able to usually locate the actual source, and this is the knowledge and method one should use when working out how to go about it. Here is the correct way to learn and apply anything.
I find it amazing how some SEO experts throw their opinions out on their high-powered blogs, simply to confuse another thousand SEO experts.
It is so laughable to look at, and it goes like this:
SEO Expert Joe, has to get “green carrots” on page 1 of Google for a client.
He is focusing on it for months, bookmarking, internet sites, links etc.
After 2-3 months he requires a step back and appears at his visitor and keyword stats. Very little change, he is just not obtaining the results and his client is beginning to wonder.
Suddenly he knows that an awesome video online may boost things up and get’s this produced an internet.
The following week “green carrots” is on-page 1! It is great, it worked and also the client is happy.
After sitting back relaxed and searching at his results, he suddenly knows that he never optimised this content of his page with sufficient keywords. Oops. He only mentioned “green carrots” once yet still have a first page result. This strikes him as strange plus it seems to violate everything he learned all about page optimisation in SEO.
What happens next is interesting. The SEO expert decides this can be valuable information and experience. He’s just seen the following new search rule in play, which should be shared with anyone doing SEO:
“Google is not giving any value to keyword density. This plays no part in SEO.”
He writes a nice 1000 word article about this websites as bad his experience, is extremely absolutely clear on his findings. He even constitutes a jab at Google about no mentioning it to anyone. Now he has kudos for finding this out before someone else.
This is frustrating for everyone who wants to discover the subject of SEO or perhaps old school SEO professionals. And is also because of this short-sightedness how the web is filled with millions of pages about SEO which would be much better based in the trash.
Now crap, I’m not really talking about the many very helpful articles, digests and tutorials available which could do a lot a welsh seo expert to get his job finished faster. I am talking about the individuals who create their very own interpretations of what’s an incredibly precise and logical technology – SEO.
Adding confusion for the subject
I’ve a real illustration of this. Last week Someone said and article from a “leading SEO source”, Seomoz. Within their article The fundamentals of Search Engine Friendly Design and Development, they state loud and bold that:
“Keyword density is, undoubtedly, Not really a part of modern web search engine results positioning algorithms for your simple reason that it gives you far worse results than many other, more complex ways of keyword analysis.”
A significant statement! Who’s your source? They referenced Dr. Edel Garcia’s seminal work on the topic – The Keyword Density of Non-Sense. If you undergo this source’s article, Dr. Edel Garcia attempts to breakdown the mathematical equation of keyword density improving search results and in the ends supposedly proves it could not be true.
The ultimate statement in Seomoz’s comment on keyword density is amusing.
“Dr. Garcia’s background in information retrieval and his mathematical proofs should debunk any notion that keyword density enables you to help “optimize” a website for better rankings. However, this same document illustrates the unfortunate truth about keyword optimization – without usage of an international index of webpages (to calculate term weight) along with a representative corpus of the Internet’s collected documents (to assist develop a semantic library), we now have little chance to create formulas that would be great for true optimization.”
What does this all mean? To sum up, Seomoz told its a large number of followers that “Keyword density has NO PART in SEO”. Then they say at the end which they don’t have usage of enough search engine results (Google’s database) to completely validate it. Huh? Why mention it then?
How to simplify SEO
Around the opposite side of this story, there are many intelligent SEO pros who work from the way to obtain SEO itself and never deviate. They are several of the finest SEO companies and SEO experts on the planet.
So back to the purpose, the simple question lingering on us now’s, “Who is the source?”.
Let us take a peek we could?
Who decides what ranks well?
Who decides if your content articles are good?
Who decides if the keywords match what people are looking for?
Who determines automobile external link has authority or value?
The answer is simple: Google.
The interesting thing that i found when conversing with other SEO professionals is that they want to follow other experts because of their portfolios, attractive articles and other appeal factors.
But, if you wish to enter the nitty-gritty than it all, you should bet is always to return to source.
Matt Cutts from Google’s Search Team provides a huge selection of videos, articles and updates to keep SEO experts as if you from falling into the dark pit of failed websites.
Google wants quality, they need results and they desire a great user experience. The only way they will achieve this is becoming SEO companies and their individual staff to understand what their vision can be as along with that they work.
Just the other day a young Seo agency london contacted us to take over two failing SEO campaigns these were running. That they had gotten themselves into a variety of odd-ball SEO practices and were, obviously, failing.
Our Campaign Manager simply referred these phones the applicable Google articles on SEO and website quality guidelines and they are now back to normal.
When you come across “new and exciting SEO information”, spend some time to verify it using the multiple resource websites offered by Google. Don’t just start and trust everything another blogger wrote. It may or might not be true, but it is your reputation at stake as an SEO professional.
